the cotton thread have capillaries (hollow inside) so it absorbed water, which takes long time to evaporate while nylon thread is solid (inside) having no absorption power, the water is stick on its surfaces only so it requires less time to evaporate.
Cotton takes a longer time to dry than nylon due to its water retention capacity. Nylon does not hold water very well and can also have the effect of repelling water.

cotton plugs be kept dry during the process media prepration because in moist cotton many microorganisms are present so if we take dry cotton plugs , then the chances of contamination will be less.

Bed covers can be made from cotton, nylon, satin or a poly blend; most of them have a batting or feather stuffing to them but some are decorative and have a minimal amount of internal fabric. Most are machine washable however those made with goose down feathers are recommended to be dry cleaned.

Diabetic socks differ from ordinary cotton socks in the way that they are made to fit looser on the foot to increase circulation. They are also made of a combination of cotton, acrylic, nylon, and elastic fibers to keep the foot cool and dry.
Cotton is a better fabric than nylon for sports and exercise because, being a natural fibre, it breathes, meaning your skin can also breathe and sweat can evaporate like it is supposed to. This is similarly the case for wool. On the other hand, nylon is a synthetic polymer and hence does not absorb moisture well thereby can leave you feeling hot and clammy at the best of times, let alone during exercise and rigorous activity.
cotton absorbs the most water, then wool, then nylon, ,and silk absorbs the least amount of water

Cotton fibers swell up when wet with water which in effect shortens the length of the fiber. The temperature of the water has no bearing. If the fiber is then dried quickly, the fiber permanently retains the swelled up and shortened attitude. If dried on low heat or no heat cotton will usually not shrink. This removes the water slowly and returns the fibers to their pre-wet size. Dry cleaning solvent evaporates quickly from cotton fibers allowing for a shrink free process. Most manufacturers preshrink cotton fabric prior to constructing garments. However, preshrunk garments may still shrink 2 to 3%. So if it is just right - get the next size.
It is believed that wool does dry faster than cotton. Many think that wool does not absorb moisture like cotton does.
