Why does food give the body energy?
It contains some sort of sugar called glucose or starch. When we eat it, the glucose or starch is released. When respiration(sugar+oxygen converted into carbon dioxide+energy+water) occurs, energy is released.
THE MAIN FUNCTION OF FOOD IS TO GIVE ENERGY AND TRANSFER VITAMINS AND NUTRIENTS TO OUR BODY. THE MAXIMUM DAY WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT FOOD IS ABOUT 3 DAYS. Some body fat can give off energy. It depends on which type...meaning there are different types of body fat. Of course, some good and some bad. Fat is energy that has been stored for a later time. If you take in a lot of energy (like eat a lot of food), and don't use it up right away (through exercise), your liver will turn that energy into long chains of lipid (glycogen). Carbohydrates are used…
for humans, food supplies the body with necessary molecules that make the body function. in the case of energy, humans get their glucose from consuming photosynthetic organisms such as plants. the body then breaks down the glucose in a process called cellular respiration. This process produces ATP, which is the molecule that animal cells use for energy.
