There are many things that can make a caliper stick, the piston can corrode and become partially seized in the bore so it cannot retract when the pedal is released. This causes the brake pads to contantly wear on the rotor. Also the slider pins or guides for the pads can become seized with rust. When changing pads always make sure the mounting pins/bolts are lubricated with a high temp brake lube, and make sure the piston will push easily back into its bore. check for brake fluid seeping around boot on piston. Also if a vehicle is used for heavy duty work or are exposed to oil and grease the pads can become overheated and crack or fall apart, this can cause a brake to stick as well.
My 92 Silverado right front brake sticking why
Brake calipers stick when they get old. You need to replace it and the other side While you're at it.
It could be caused by clogged up front brake hoses.
Most transmissions fill through the dip stick. The reason for the larger dip stick than the engine oil.
in space behind gear stick and in front of hand brake iss a small area (not cup holders) just lift up rubber in space behind gear stick and in front of hand brake iss a small area (not cup holders) just lift up rubber
dodge caravan front brake rotors should come off after removing the brake caliper. first check for any hardware that may hold the rotor in place, then hit the rotor with a hammer, in between the wheel mounting studs. (not on the area where the brake pads make contact. this should knock the rotor loose. good luck.
Pour the fluid down the transmission dip stick tube. This is easier if you use a special transmission fluid funnel which has a long snout and is available for a couple of dollars any place auto parts are sold.
The brake caliper is usually the culprit. Either rebuild it or replace it. Its less hassle to replace it than to rebuild, unless you have the expertise.
Most Likely Your Front Brake Hose, Over Time The Hoses Deterate On The Inside Closing The Hose and does not Allow Brake Fluid To Return To The Master Cylinder. I just tried what you said and you were right on the money : ) Sticking on the passenger side.Saved us a lot of money as we were going to change master cylinder.Thank you very much : )
You need to either update your system, your drivers specifically: the USB port drivers.
There could be several reasons. The ones that come to mind are;Your front brakes are shot and the rears are doing all the work. This probably means it's time for a 4 wheel brake job.The rear brakes are shot and have damaged the drums. This can make them stick sometimes. The rear calipers are old or damaged and need to be replaced. The upshot here is that you have a brake problem. Brake problems are a bad thing. If I were you, I'd get the car to my mechanic or a brake shop as soon as is possible. This could develop into a serious situation. PLEASE! Take this seriously!
if its a manual tranny there is no dip stick, if not then it will be on the drivers side of the motor by the firewall.
