Yes, once the loved one died, if they were a Christian, God took them to be with Him in heaven. (That's pretty awesome when you think about it) if they weren't a Christian, I'm VERY sorry. God loves you, He loved the loved one of your that died. God loves the world. (Watch Touched By An Angel, it's a tv show) But it was death that took your loved one. Not God.
