Gravity causes a pair of forces on every two masses. Each force acts on one of the

masses, and pulls it toward the other one. The key word is: The direction of gravity

is always "together".

There are a pair of gravitational forces between the Earth and any other object with

mass. The forces attract the Earth and the object toward each other. If there's nothing

holding them apart, then they move toward each other.

Words like "drop" and "down" and "fall" are not really descriptive characteristics of gravity.

They're just the words we use to mean "towards the Earth", because that's the direction

that gravity always causes us to move when nothing is stopping us. But you should realize

that "down" in the USA and "down" in India are almost exactly opposite directions.
