Neither. The shape of the hut is never mentioned in the books, but is octagonal in the films.
1. Hagrid has a pumpkin patch in his garden. Use the Hover Charm (Wingardium Leviosa) to pick up a pumpkin. Then, use your wand to move the pumpkin to the top of Hagrid's Hut, directly on top of the chimney. Then, drop the pumpkin, making it fall into the chimney. The chimney will blow the pumpkin out. 2. Use Accio or Depulso on Hagrid's door, and the door will open slightly, and you will hear Fang, Hagrid's dog, bark. 3. There is a bone somewhere in Hagrid's garden. Use the Hover Charm to pick it up, and then send it through Hagrid's window. Fang will get the bone.

It wasn't specfied how many windows his hut house. One of the drawings on Pottermore shows at least three windows (two on the front and one at the side). In the movies, his hut changes after the second film and gains more windows and an extra room.
