They don't sound the same. The only sounds that are the same are the beginning "h" and ending "t". The middle of "heart" has a short "a" and "r" combination. "Hot" has a short "o".

When your heart pounds what is making the sound come from your heart?

The sound coming from your heart is the sound of the valves in the heart closing and the turbulence in the blood that results. In a normal healthy adult the first sound (or lub) is from the closing of the AV valve and the second sound (or dub) is from the closing of the semilunar valve.

Does the first heart sound occurs at the same time as the P wave of the electrocardiogram?

No, the first heart sound (S1) occurs at the start of ventricular systole when the atrioventricular (AV) valves close, while the P wave on an electrocardiogram represents atrial depolarization. So, they do not occur at the exact same time.
