omg not at all! its just a little annoying because you kinda have to "train" your mouth to eat again and stuff.....for the first day i had to drop things in my mouth and lick stuff off the spoon..........also you kinda feel invaded because there is all this new stuff in your mouth......but like honestly i can't handle pain AT ALL and they didn't hurt....they are just uncomfortable and tight.....oh and i don't know if this is what helped but i took 2 advil before i went into the chair.
