The Atlantic Gulf Stream - planes fly into a headwind on the way out of the UK towards the Americas, but have a tailwind helping them on the way back.
Cuba is in a time zone that is five hours behindGMT(UTC). i.e. When it is mid-day GMT in the UK, it is only seven o'clock in the morning in Cuba.
Cuba has only one time zone, but they observe Daylight Saving Time. Cuba Standard Time = UTC - 5 hours Cuba Daylight Saving Time = UTC - 4 hours Daylight Saving Time in Cuba begins on the 2nd Sunday of March and ends on the 1st Sunday of November.
only 2 hours
From 05:00 UTC on the second Sunday of March to 05:00 UTC on the first Sunday of November, the time in Cuba is UTC - 4 hours. During the rest of the year the time in Cuba is UTC - 5 hours.Cuba Standard Time is the same as Eastern Standard Time (UTC - 5 hours), and Cuba Daylight Saving Time is the same as Eastern Daylight Saving Time (UTC - 4 hours). Also, Cuba has been beginning and ending Daylight Saving Time on the same dates as the United States, Canada, Bermuda and the Bahamas since fall 2012 (2nd Sun. of Mar. to 1st Sun. of Nov.). The only differences are that Cuba begins DST two hours earlier than New York, etc. and ends DST one hour earlier.
There is usually no time difference between Maryland and Cuba. Eastern Standard Time = Cuba Standard Time, and Eastern Daylight Saving Time = Cuba Daylight Saving Time. There is only one week per year when Maryland is one hour ahead of Cuba: during the week of October 31 (because Cuba ends Daylight Saving Time on the last Sunday of October, and in Maryland it ends a week later).
It depends on whether you take a plane or try to swim. One thing that complicates this is that the US government has ... let's call it an antagonistic relationship with the Cuban government. You're not going to find any scheduled flights directly from the US to Cuba. You will need to fly to some third country (Mexico or Canada being the most convenient... given that you're starting in New Hampshire, Toronto would probably be a good option). The US has just started the (probably long) process of normalizing relationships with Cuba, so in the future the embargo may be lifted, and you'll be able to fly directly. That should shorten the trip considerably.

I've heard that USCIS will issue a deportation order for him, but Cuba only accepts back a few deportees. So, they'll just wait for the day in the future that Cuba allows US to send back all these pending deportees.

From Manchester to Singapore, the fastest flight is 15 hours 20 minutes. The only airline to fly direct is Singapore Airlines, and that includes a stop at Munich.
Yes. The embargo only relates to the US. You will not be able to take the cigars from Cuba to the US en route to the UK however.
