Why does it take Michael Buckley so long to write the Sisters Grimm series?

Well, he has to figure out how the plot is going to unfold, and then he has to write it. After that, the books has to go through a long process of illustration, editing, and publishing. It usually takes a year for this whole process to take place for him. Not to mention, he can't just sit and write all day.
