Japan is a series of Island Arcs, as they are called, all created by volcanic activity. So, Japan has much less flat land, and has at least one active volcano.
they have shortage of flatland due to most of it being covered in mountainous land so they have to make new flat land out of the mountains that they then dump into the ocean to create flat land that they cover in concrete also when the mountain land becomes flat they have more land to build on.
Open flat land and lots of it. With good soil and good climate
Kai Tak was built close to the water because there was not much flat land in HK so people got as much dirt as the could from mountains and put it into the sea to make flat land to build Kai Tak on
they grow so much food because Japan has great weather for their crops and Japan has speacial tequniques to make sure the crops grow perfectly.
because japan has a lot of water around it gets hot also so if you plant your crops to close to the water they will drownd if you plant then too far inland thell run out of water so either way thell die so you have too plant them just right.............................ji-zz
they reclaim land from the sea so that they have more land to build on and so that it makes japan flatter with the land its using to reclaim the land which also gives them more space to build on.
Japan is a string of islands with small land mass. They could not find areas to put land for food much less people so they buy from other countries, this also explains why prices in Japan are so overpriced.
It's because of the mountains and beaches. There is so many of them that there's not much farm land...
It is so great because of the flat land.
Japan's low arable land reflects that most of the country is uninhabitable forests and mountains, thus decreasing its capacity for population density. However, Japan's arable land to population ratio is many times more favorable than, e.g., China, so the food production aspect of arable land is not the controlling factor. Instead, it is the inhabitability of much of Japan's non-arable land which diminishes Japan's population density.
Relatively little of Japan's land is arable, or suitable for farming. Much of the land is too rocky or steep to grow crops on. As a result, most farms are small.Because their farms are so small and Japan imports so much of its food, many farmers cannot make a living from their crops. As a result, many people have left rural areas to find jobs in cities.
