What is the S.I unit for speed?

The SI unit for speed is the same as the SI unit for velocity, which is meter per second, or m/s for short.Meter/ sec

In the metric system what is speed be measured in?

the official unit for speed is m/s (metres per second) 1 metre = approx 3'3'' but in cars and aircraft and roads and so on it is km/h (kilometres per hour) 1 km = 1000 metres 1 km = approx 5/8 mile.

3.6 km per hour is how many to m per second?

First, convert kilometres per hour to metres per hour. There are 1000 metres in one kilometre, therefore, 3.6 kilometres per hour is equal to 3.6 x 1000 = 3600 metres per hour. Next, convert metres per hour to metres per second. There are 3600 seconds in one hour. Therefore, 3600 metres per hour is equal to 3600/3600 = 1 metre per second.

What do you measure acceleration in?

Metres per second squared (m/s^2 , m/s2 )

25mph is how many meters per second?

1 mile = 1609.344 metres.25 miles = 40233.6 metres.40233.6 metres / 3600 seconds ( the number of seconds in one hour )= 11.176 metres per second.

Converting km-m to m-s?

To convert from kilometres per minute to metres per second, multiply by 16 and two thirds (a fraction equal to 1000/60, or, cancelled down to a fraction in its lowest terms, 50/3). Therefore, 1 kilometre per minute is equal to 16.6 recurring metres per second.

What does accelerate at 1 mss mean?

It means mps2 .How fast you travel (i.e. your speed) is writen as metres per second (m/s) : e.g. 1 m/s means that in one second you travel 1 metre. However, acceleration is different to speed. It measuring the change in speed per second. Basically it's metres per second divided by seconds. It means the change in acceleration metres per second per second.e.g. If you go from doing 30mps to doing 31mps and it only takes a second for you to do do that, then you've accelerated at 1m/s/s or 1ms2. If it takes you 2 seconds to go from doing 30m/s to 31 m/s then clearly you're acceleration is 0.5 m/s/s (0.5m/s2)

How do you convert 450 m per s to meter and second in separate is it the same as 450 m and 450 sec?

Its an average speed, derived from speed = distance / time. > eg: 900 metres in 2 seconds, 225 metres in 0.5 seconds, 450 metres in 1 second So it is NOT 450 m and 450 sec.

If someone runs 100 meters in 18 seconds how do you put that into kilometers per hour?

100 metres in 18 seconds = 5.555... m/s (metres per second). 1 m/s = 3.6 km/h, so 5.555... m/s = 20 km/h.
