Why does mrcullen help Bella but says to edward you better go find Jasper before he gets to far?

Carlisle has to help Bella because even though Edward has the skills to help Bella eventually the smell of her blood will be too much for him and also Jasper and Edward get along very well and Carlisle believed that Edward had a good chance of calming Jasper down and getting him to come back.
