check your wheel bearing / hub bearing assy
wheel bearing
Did you try turning the key? I often alsofind that if the radio is turned up louder the car goes quiter. I can't hear it as much. Good luck, :)
drive it off of a cliff onto rocks!
because the gears are grinding together if its an old car it will make a louder crack sound
Front wheel bearing needs immediate replacing.
AnswerThere are a couple of things... If it happens when you are turning and the sound gets louder then it is your CV Joint that needs to be replaced. If the grinding noise is only when you break then it is your break pads and they need to be replaced. If it is just when you drive and is pretty loud then it is your wheel bearings. Don't get bent out of shape if you replace one wheel bearing and the noise is there... it just means you probably should replace all the wheel bearings (better anyways).
The first thing you usually notice is a clicking while turning. After a while, you will hear it all the time and louder when turning.
Check the condition of the brake pads- may need replacement Checked the breaks they are Knew
