It could be anything from worn spark plugs, filters or vacuum hoses to a clogged fuel filter, dirty fuel injectors, EGR or PCV valves.
If it's conking out on you, it's probably the PCV pipe or vacuum hoses.

Power brakes use engine vacuum to get their power. If the engine is out of tune, the loss of vacuum will cause it to run rough. Try changing the spark plugs.

You probably need coolant NOW. Don't run the car with a hot engine. Change that thermostat while you're at it. Take it to Midas or any other place that changes coolant professionally.
