The answer is 8-cylinders. All models from Land Rover are 8 .Why? The reason is that they need a big engine to go through rough terrains and the bigger the engine, the more cylinders. If you ever need more info, please go to this website : http:/auto.yahoo.com/
Losing any of your plug wires will make it run very badly, on a 8 cylinder it may not kill the engine, but it will run rough, 6 cylinders and 4 cylinders have fewer cylinders and may shut down if 1 is lost, but i've see them keep on chugging away, just very rough sounding. You need to get it replaced as soon as possible, driving like that will damage the engine.
My idle was running rough and slight loss of power (5 cylinder engine). The power loss is more noticeable on cars with less cylinders.
If you have a loose spark plug, your car will not stall unless maybe your engine has 3 cylinders. If you have a 6 or 8 cylinder engine you would just loose some power and your engine would run a little rough.
In my experience they run rough like there's a miss because the compression is off on one of the cylinders were the gasket has blown.
150 LBS. per cylinder if everything is in perfect working condition. Should be no more then 15 LBS. difference in any cylinders, are you will have a engine miss--rough idle.
Its idling rough because you probably have a blown head-gasket and lost compression at two cylinders you need to remove all spark plugs and check each cylinders compression.
150 LBS. per cylinder. If you hace more then 15 LBS. difference between any cylinders the engine will idle rough and not run good.
An engine with a bad valve, plugs, injector or wires can idle more smoothly when there is no load and be more rough when there a load. Run a compression check to see if you have a problem with one or more cylinders. If there is no compression problem, get a tune-up.
There is no such formula as the hp rating of an engine depends on many factors in addition to the cc size of the cylinders. There are approximations of this formula for various classes and designs of engine, but you have to remember that they only give rough estimates of hp and using such a formula for a different class or design of engine than it was intended for will give a completely incorrect answer.
I think your problem is either in high voltage cables or in the ignition coils. Since you have two ignition coils for 4 cylinders and missfire in one, the problem is in the cables.
the check engine light is blinking and my 03 Nissan exterra is running rough
