burn or leak? do you know for a fact it is burning? do you smell it? is your exhaust blue? that new, more likely a leak, maybe front or rear seal (not sure what that engine has).
What problem?Well we bought at the time a brand new 2008 Toyota Scion XB, in July 2008. With in weeks of buying it we had a brake issue that feels like it has air in the brake lines, soft pedal, and when your on a hill going down, the pedal drops to the floor, very spongy! The second issue at 22000 miles the automatic transmission blew, I also found out at that time we didn't have towing or road side assistance! The third issue is a major one, this car burns (doesn't leak) 2.5 quarts of oil every 5000 miles! If anyone has question that there car is loosing oil, have whom ever changes the oil, measure what comes out of the engine and oil filter. The 4 cylinder cars take 4 quarts of oil. So you put four quarts in, 4 quarts should come out! This car has 42000 miles on it now and Corp. Toyota has made more excesses, of why the engine is burning so much oil... Corp. Toyota stated about 3 weeks ago the there engineers (Toyota) say it is acceptable level of oil burn is up to ONE LITER!!!! Our car is burning more than a Liter of oil.My question to Corp. Toyota is: I thought Toyota's were to fuel efficient, and good for the enviorment? Just think Toyota produces 5 to 7 million vehicles per year, and each one to there standards can BURN UP TO ONE LITER OF OIL EVERY 5000 Miles????What is all that burning oil doing to our enviorment ???
Check your owner's manual, but it's somewhere near 60,000 miles.
I have a 2006 Scion TC that Ive already put 120k miles on from commuting back and forth on the LA freeways for work. Ive never had any major problems and it still runs like a charm. Toyota doesn't skimp or disappoint on quality. I expect to put 200k miles on this.
Every 5000 miles, is when I do it on mine.
The most fuel efficient used car is the 2004 to 2006 Toyota Scion. It gets 30 miles per gallon combined.
every 130,000 miles :)
every 200,000 miles
Every 60,000 miles.
Toyota recommends replacing the belt every 90,000 miles.
Every 2500 to 3000 miles is highly recommended
Change it every 90,000 miles.
Toyota service recommends an old and oil filter change every 5,000 miles or every 6 months.
