Sometimes human beings just need a little bit of alone time to reflect on why they are feeling upset and what they plan to do to make themself feel better. It is not a 'girl thing' at all. As long as you let her know that you are there for her if she needs you, then you've done your part to help. Let her reflect and be alone, and she'll come to you when she's ready, but try not to be pushy or else you'll probably make her feel invaded and thus, more upset. Good luck!
