Bad wiring. Insulation has worn off of a wire(s) and it is shorting out the switch circuit. The switch could be bad, but that would be a strange break.

5 Flash Code is a BRAKE failure. It could be as simple as the "free-wheel" lever being in the push position instead of the drive position. If the wheels won't roll then it could be either the brake or the brake wiring causing the failure.
