After warm up, my car would die at idle and would decelerate when I pushed the gas pedal hard. I replaced the camshaft sensor and it fixed the problem.
you are flooding the engine
yes
water in the fuel can cause an idling motor to sputter and/or die.
its because your really fat go on a diet u fatty.
It could cause a low rpm misfire/stumble/die off.
It turned out to be the crank shaft sensor. had dodge install it and car runs and starts great now.
go to auto zone to get your check engine light codes read. When it blinks that means there is more than one problem. Those codes will most likely help you figure out why your car is trying to die. I have a '98 Intrepid as well and the array of problems it has is amazing. Good luck...
The most common cause for an engine to die out, while idling, is the idle speed is set to low. You can adjust the idle speed with the fuel injector vital screw.
could be a faulty thermostat don't over heat it to often you'll end up blowing your heads gaskets drive safe
Dirty fuel injectors.
It is likely that if it was during an idling condition or low rpms your EGR valve could be sticking open or faulty.
As long as your car engine is running, it should be OK. An exhausted battery will only become a problem when you try to start the car.
