If it leaks fuel it has a leak. Fuel flows from the fuel tank to the engine through fuel lines. A fuel leak is relatively easy to find. Your nose is your best tool. Find a mechanic who knows what he is doing and he will find the problem. This one obviously is not very good.
.if leaking from tank area it can only be, a leak from the tank, a leak from a fuel line or fuel line fitting,or a leak from the filler tube to the tank. ask your mechanic why can he NOT find the leak when obviously there is a leak.maybe you need to go to a better mechanic
Get a new mechanic :)... just kidding, the leak is probably not in the line, maybe a bad valve.
you may have an auto trans leak look underneath car and underside of driveline is there evidense of red oil..pour some auto fluid in transmission usually through dipstick tube 2 litres will do it. if this works go get it checked by mechanic
You dont. -Mechanic
You do have a leak or something is wrong with the EVAP system. You would not smell gasoline otherwise. It will take a skilled mechanic to find it.
you go to a mechanic :)
look for the leak yourself by running the vehicle while looking for the leak or take it to a mechanic.
Time for a new mechanic Running on all cylinders? Check plugs, wires Do a compression test Check for a vacuum leak Air intake leak clean the intake real well
Try a different mechanic. Finding the leak should be easy if they have a sniffer. (leak sensing tool)
My 97 Tahoe was leaking coolant and I couldn't find anything on the driveway or anywhere else. I took it to my mechanic and it was a rear manifold gasket leak, cost me about 500 dollars.
depends what is wrong, Mostl likely it has alow charge, the question is why. I good mechanic will vacuum test the system (by law they have to) If it doesn't hold vacuum there is a leak. They may put dye in the system and have you come back in a couple days and find the leak using a black light,
so that if it springs a leak you can put a drip tray underneath
