Why does my Xbox turn itself off when I turn my television off?

If it happens about everyday at some point, someone put a timer on your xbox. to remove it go to your settings and remove the timer. if it only happened once but you feel worried, look in the back of your xbox and make sure everything is plugged in.

∙ 9y agoThe status light never showed anything was wrong and the powerbox status light still doesn't. I know my xbox still has power because i can take the disc out and the status light will come on and then when i close the disc drive it turns back off.

∙ 11y agoYou may have something of a one-way router, my friend has that. His dad can on the computer, but then he has to shut his Xbox off. Something of that sort.

That's an unusual problem. I've never heard of such a thing happening. Perhaps it is some sort of short.

You can try turning it on from the TV itself (the on/off buttons on an LCD/LED/Plasma are generally found on the side, or the back of the tv, near a side).
