- Your dog probably eats its poop because its stomach hurts. If you see him/her eating his poop, walk your dog for a while and only let him/her drink water.
- Another guess that your dog is eating its poop is that he/she ate something and the remains of it are still in its poop and he/she likes how it tastes.
- Another reason that your dog would eat it's own poop is because there is fiber in the poop from their food. These are only guesses and if your dog keeps on eating its poop, then ask a vet on your next check up.

∙ 15y agoWhen i got my dog, He used to eat, EVERY thing, that was..... decomposed. So when he got older, he grew out of that stage. I think its because that if there young mabey there taste buds are not fully developed. is your dog a puppy?

∙ 6y agoThey eat their own waste for a number of reasons. Some do that to clean the area, such as when there are puppies, so predators won't find them from the odor. Sometimes they just like the taste.
