He is expressing dominating behavior towards the other. This can also include "mounting" the other. Don't worry, this is quite common. My guinea pig sometimes does this to his brother who he has known for years.
If he starts chattering his teeth loudly or hissing, you best split them up with a towl asap; such things often lead to fighting.
They purr and shake their hips. This is the mating dance.
When male and female guinea pigs feel hormonal, they purr and shake their hips. This is called the mating dance. So I guess, whenever they feel happy and have a friend.
Yes this generally means your guinea pig is happy and content.
When a guinea pig purrs it means it is happy and contented...my guinea pig used to purr every time I picked her up and snuggled into her ears....
The rough purr means the guinea pig enjoys it so thoroughly and with all of its heart. The soft purr means it likes the feeling of whatever is happening to it.
you need to give it lots, and LOTS and love and attention. once you play with it or pet it they will start to "purr" which is like their happy noise. - sak :)
It sounds like a cats purr! its great to hear guinea pigs purr, it meens they love you. please do not confuse it with growling. . . guinea pigs will not growl. Hope this helped i hope your guinea pigs purring for you. i have 2 that purr non stop! one purrs if i pet it, and the other purrs if it has food and i stroke him.
This means a guinea pig is experiencing pleasure, enjoyment, or excitement. You will hear this noise when you pet your guinea pig or feeding it a treat. If you hear this noise suddenly when you are not petting your guinea pig it is afraid or it feels threatened. They purr if they hear a loud noise: a telephone ring or a knock on the door.
Maybe you say something loud or knock
You don't.
I think a male guinea pig is called a boar. You can message me for any other guinea pig questions!!
If you are talking about a collie as in a dog, not likely. Most other animals make purr - fect buddies with guinea pigs. Your collie will most likely lick the guinea pig, eat its food, and play in its shavings! :} I'm not sure how your guinea pig will like some of this though! But it is still really good to introduce them, less of a worry and gives him/her a friend if they don't have a guinea pig pal. We let the dog go into the cage with are guinea pigs exept for at night. Then we put the lid on.
