Plecostomus are famous for attacking and eating goldfish! NEVER put them in a pond or aquarium together. Many people think that plecos are vegetarian, but they are omnivors. If they are hungery, they will eat what ever they can get in their mouths, and gold fish don't swim that fast! Seperate those fish or in time your goldfish will be gone!
As long as you are feeding it okay then it shouldn't eat your other fish.
My goldfish Fan tail is attacking my small gold fish, they have been together for over a month now but has only recently started to nibble at the smaller goldfish, how can i stop this
There have been a few studies on it, goldfish actually have a memory of about 3months. There have been a few studies on it, goldfish actually have a memory of about 3months.
it couold have been or as goldfish have no memory it is likely it either had a problem of its own or had got used to having another goldfish to bump into that it didnt realise it wasnt there.
Goldfish have been systematically bred to be colourful just like koi. Before goldfish were colourful they were a small species of carp - a rather drab fish. IAt some time the Chinese noticed that some carp were more colourful than others and started to selectively breed them to enhance the mutation. The original feral goldfish was probably a reddish colour. This probably happened a thousand years or more in the past.i
Any kind of goldfish will mix OK with any other kind of goldfish. Goldfish are all one species with many 'sports' that have been developed by selective breeding. The only No! No! is if you have some well bred fish and don't want them to cross breed at breeding time. Then you will need to keep type with type, otherwise, since they are the same species, they will cross breed and your resultant fry will be almost worthless crossbred goldfish.
13 years They started out in 1996.
I think you have made a spelling mistake and are actually asking about "Tetra Color" If that is the case then the answer is definitely NO. Tetra colour has been specially designed is for feeding Tetras. Goldfish are not Tetras. Goldfish need food that has been made for Goldfish. There is heaps of it around.
I believe they started going out on Halloween of 2011. (:
If you mean a black moor, or a goldfish that has always been generally black in colour, then it will depend on what is wrong with it.If the goldfish was a different colour & recently started getting black patches on it, it's quite possible that these are ammonia burns that are healing. To avoid this from happening again, you need to make sure that you do regular water changes in your tank to keep the ammonia down to zero
about a million years
Goldfish have been known to eat their own young so moving the mother goldfish out of the tank and into another is probably a good idea. You do not need to do this if the eggs have not been fertilized by a male goldfish. In that case, it is perfectly fine to leave the eggs with the mother as she will greatly enjoy devouring them.
