Your Yamaha XV250 may cut out on acceleration unless half choked for a number of reasons. There may be an issue with your fuel pump while the bike is running, or fully choking it may be flooding the engine if it cuts out shortly after it turns over. Either way, you should have a mechanic check your bike.

There is a window near the bottom of the engine beneath the fill plug. Hold the bike straight up, and look at the window. The oil should be half way up in the window.
The clutch on a 1984 Honda Goldwing GL1200 is hydraulic and is not adjustable. There is a slave cylinder for the clutch located behind the engine that must be bled to eliminate air in the system. This air (or old fluid) can cause the clutch lever to engage at the end of it's arc of travel.
