Some people do remember.
The word 'slave' is derived from 'Slavic', referencing the people of Yugoslavia, who were enslaved during an era of the past.
In the US, it is because the enslavement of Africans and African-Americans was much more prevalent than the enslavement of whites.
yes there were slaves in 1925 slavery is a state of mind theres white slaves too believe that
Yes, African people are still slaves, there are people that control people that are not that powerful, because they think that just because they have more power then the other people, they think that they can control them, so you always have to remember that African people are not then only people that are slaves, in other countrys there are slaves too. Alway REMEMBER, that there are MANY slaves around the WORLD. :) Thxx :)
"Greek slaves didn't cost too much money, we do not know how much, but if almost everyone had one, then greek slaves wouldn't cost too much."
because African slaves were brought to Mexico too
White landowners, those who had no slaves or too few, rented convict laborers as farm hands. This continued after the Civil War when many ex-slaves could find no gainful employment.
No.
Yes it did. We had slaves in ancient India too.
Amazulu Bit ironic really, too good to be forgotten and no-one can remember who they are....
Strictly speaking, black people had been enslaving black people too in connection with wars and such even before white men arrived. The scale of the slavery pretty much exploded though when white people arrived and had such nice goods to trade for slaves with them. Then of course white people caught a fair number of slaves on their own too. And not to forget that white people weren't above enslaving white people too a few centuries earlier. The main reason I suppose was the idea that a cheap work force was attractive, and with an accepting attitude from society in general and no international laws to stop it ther was no reason not to and plenty of reasons($$$) to do so.
Indians died too quickly Slaves didn't
