I really think it has something to do with the potassium that's in the banana peel I don't think it has anything to do with cancer that happens to me all the time so don't put that out in the atmosphere about any kind of cancer cuz that's not what it is
I really want to know the answer to this.. It doesn't happen to everyone from what I've heard, or at least maybe they have never noticed... but it sure happens to me!
The same thing happens to my nails. My nails turn brown from using it to open the banana peel and I can't find any information as to why this happens.
It also happens to me and there seems to be no information out there as to why this happens. The closest explanation I can find is that there is some enzyme in the banana that acts or reacts to the probability of the person developing skin cancer. The brief article I found was printed in the UK Daily Mail.

It does not matter what brand. Bananas turn brown faster in the refrigerator.
Bananas are green, but when they are ripe they turn yellow. When they are rotten, they get brown blotches and eventually turn all the way brown.
They begin as light green, then they turn yellow, then they get all brown.
