Dill would tell Scout and Jem the "adventures" he's been to. He would say he's been all around the world and has been to Merridian. In reality, they were all a lie and he has never truly been to where he stated that he was.
Dill tells Scout and Jem that his father is not around because he's a "mean" man who doesn't pay attention to him. Later in the story, it's revealed that his father actually works a lot and travels often for his job, causing Dill to feel neglected.
Dill suggests that Boo Radley has a long beard, but when Scout asks it if it like Dill's father's, Dill says his father doesn't have a beard. Earlier, he had said that his father had a black beard.
Dill says that he has a father, then Scout asks him where is he and he said I don't know. So Scout thinks that he does not have a father and he is lying.

In To Kill a Mockingbird, Dill says something about his father's beard that doesn't match what he had said earlier in the summer. Scout then accused him of lying about his father.
Scout accuses Dill of lying because he doesn't think Dill has a father. Dill says he has a father but doesn't know where he is.
