that last guy was an idiot..... slipknot while starting up their band made a bomb in their garage and it blew up wile in the garage,,,,and people started saying they wear thos bc their faces are messed up....BUt indication shoes their faces are fine an its just as hype ,,, you know just something for the fans,,, and because some crazy dude would kill them bc people think they r devilworshipers ,,,but yea... another answer is : The reason they wear masks is because 1st of all, its never been done before, and 2nd because its their way of expressing how they see society. The things they hate the most are incoroporated in their masks; so the masks act as a mirror, showing society what they hate about it. Thirdly, the first member who started wearing a mask was Shawn (Clown) who is a extremely shy and somewhat anti-social person ( in the good way, of course :-P ), so a mask seemed perfect for him. If you wear a mask long enough you almost get the feeling that you disapeer, that you become invisible, protected, invincible. Another reason is that it gives them the "shock factor". + its looks awesome ! hehe
