Ice melts faster when you stir it because of friction. By stirring it, it causes the molecules to move and collide at a much faster rate. Each time they collide they produce a little more heat causing the ice to melt fater

When a solid dissolves in a liquid, assuming it can dissolve in appreciative amounts, molecules from the solid slowly break off and begin to diffuse into the surrounding liquid. When many molecules are breaking off around the solid it creates a small area around the solid of highly concentrated molecules. The immediate surrounding concentration is essentially fully saturated and hence the solid can no longer dissolve until molecules begin to diffuse away from the immediate area, lowering the concentration of molecules around the solid. It takes a little time for the molecule to diffuse far away enough so that the concentration is lowered enough to allow more molecules to break off the solid. Therefore stirring quickly diffuses the immediate area around the solid allowing more molecules to break off quickly, hence allowing the solid to dissolve faster.
