Teenagers need more carbohydrates because they are growing and carbohydrates are a great source of energy. They need this so that they can restore the body to it's normal energy rate because growth uses the carbohydrates. Also, teenagers tend to just gaze into the fridge and pick out random foods because their bored. I've seen it happen. :-D
