It might be because the Pokemon that battled is one you got by trading.
Like.. I have a kadabra that I traded in pearl for a machop. So my kadabra will gain more EXP then the one you catched. Pokemon you traded always grwo stronger and gain more EXP.
the exp share lets u get points to the Pokemon that's holding the ex.p share they get double of wat the normal Pokemon got
All you have to do is just put a pokemon (preferrably a level 100, or at least your highest leveled pokemon) in the front of your party, and give the pokemon you want to train up the exp. share. Then it will get a share of the exp. points. The reason you would want a level 100 in front is because then the pokemon holding the experience share will get 100% of the exp.
give it to a Pokemon and put put a Pokemon that isn't holding it in thr team front and the Pokemon that is holding even if it don't battle it will receive some of the exp points from the battle
It needs to be in your team to receive Exp but it doesn't need to battle. It also needs to be alive.
trade a Pokemon from another game that is holding exp share to the game that you want it on.
no im sorry, im playing heartgold and i accidently traded a Pokemon holding my exp share and i forgot to take it off.
Repeatedly battle the Elite 4 with high level Pokemon with the Pokemon you want to level up holding an exp. share.
Increase exp gained to 1.5x. But ONLY for the Pokemon holding it. It might make it 3x normal EXP if it's traded Pokemon. But a traded pokemon holding EXP Share, still only gets 1.5x.
WHAT?!?You traded a Pokemon that was holding an EXP. SHARE?!?Well....I am very much sorry, but that sort of thing is kinda impossible.
at victory road.(especially donphan, it will give you 890 exp. points while you're pokemon holding an exp. share)
The best way is challenge the elite four with your Pokemon or a Pokemon holding exp. share. The better is to use gameshark codes for rare candies.
At Route 15 inside the big place, go upstairs talk to Professor Aid. If you have collected at least fifty Pokemon, he will give you the Exp. Share. The Pokemon holding this item will gain the exact same number of experience points. For example, if Magikarp is holding it it and your Charizard just went up to level 59 and the experience was 496, then Magikarp will gain exactly 496 points. if the Pokemon came from a trade it will get more experience points than your charizard. Edit: Not sure about traded Pokemon, but the one holding the Exp. Share will get exactly half, so if you use 2 Pokemon in the battle, and the total exp is 1000, your Exp Share Pokemon will get 500, and the other 2 will get 250 each.
