If does open up when the computer starts it can be because it is in the stat up programs. To fix it go into the control panel and take off the start up program list, because it can dramatically slow down the computer.

Once you have installed it click on the shortcut on your desktop or go on start\all programs\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\The Sims 3. Once the sims 3 game launcher has opened, click on the play button on the left under the logo and the game should automatically start! I hope this helped! x
