Because the Earth is tilted on its axis, so when the Northern Hemisphere is tilted toward the Sun (Summer, in the North) the Southern Hemisphere is tilted away from the Sun (Winter, in the South) and vice versa.

Why are seasons reversed in northern and southern hemisphere?

Because Earths axis is tilted.

Why does the nothern and southern hemispheres have different seasons at the same time?

Because the Earth tilts at 23.5°, meaning that sometimes the northern hemisphere is leaning towards the sun, giving it summer, while the southern hemisphere is leaning away from it, giving it winter. At other times the southern hemisphere is leaning towards the sun, giving it summer, while the northern hemisphere is leaning away from it, giving it winter.

Why are seasons reversed in the southern hemisphere?

In short, because of the axial tilt of the earth. In May - July, the northern hemisphere is tilted more towards the sun and gets more sunlight at a more direct angle. The reverse is true for the southern hemisphere. In November - January, the situation is reversed; the southern hemisphere gets more direct sunlight.

Explain why the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere have opposite seasons at the same time?

they have opposite seasons because at the same time, the northern hemisphere might be experiencing more radiation and the other may not. that is with summer and winter. with spring and autumn its kind of like the same thing but its just that they are tilted at different ways and one isn't experiencing that same thing as the other. im thinking this is it.

Why autumn and spring seasons occur in opposite hemispheres alternately?

Because - the Earth is tilted on its axis - by about 11 degrees. This means that, when the northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun, the Southern Hemisphere is tilted away. This - combined with the position of the sun in its orbit around the Sun - creates our seasons.

Are the seasons in the Northern Hemisphere and the southern hemisphere the same?

No, it does not. When it is winter in one hemisphere, it is summer in the other. When it is fall in one, it is spring in the other.Yes, thats why we associate snow with Christmas (except for locations near the equator).

How are seasons in the northern and Southern Hemisphere?

What is the difference between the Southern and Northern Hemisphere?

They experience the beginning of different seasons. The northern hemisphere is located above the equator while the southern hemisphere is located below it.

How are seasons in the northern hemisphere related to the seasons in the Southern Hemisphere?

It is winter in the northern hemisphere when it tilts away from the sun, and summer in the southern hemisphere when it tilts towards the sun. It is this tilting that creates the seasons.

How do earth's tilt and orbit cause the seasons?

when the northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun, the southern hemisphere is away for this reason the seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere.
