I don"t recall this in the plot. Weena is an Eloi girl who is more or less the only Love Interest in the story. I think she helps the traveler ( funny guy- no name) find his time machine which was confiscated by the Elois. I seem to recall she is killed or injured or- in some way taken out of the plot by some sort of crime. The duo do not travel together. Maybe you are thinking of another story based on the Time Machine but with alterations in the plot. Now to adjust those commutator screws on the balance wheels!
