Isaiah, in chapters 52-53 wrote about the suffering and death of Jehovah's servant to redeem mankind and the glory that will follow. In Isaiah 52:14,15 he wrote: "Like as many were astonished at thee (his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men), so shall he sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they understand." Christians believe this suffering servant to be Jesus, the account of the Ethiopian eunuch's conversion in Acts 8:26-40 also confirms this view. Many non-Christians claim this suffering servant to be Israel, which cannot be, simply because in Isaiah 53:8 Israel and the suffering servant are in the same sentence "for the transgression of my people was he stricken"

Where does the death of Jesus fit within the bigger picture of the bible story?

Jesus IS the bigger picture of the Bible story. Jesus is the predicted Messiah from the Old Testament and the One spoken about in the New Testament. When you read the complete bible you will realize that Jesus the Christ is the main subject in the bible. He is the Big picture. His death on the cross of Calvary completed God's plan for mankind. Now all mankind has to do is accept Jesus Christ as Savior to be reconciled back to God. If a person does not accept Jesus as Savior they have spit in the face of God and will pay a heavy price for eternity.

Where in the bible did Jesus come face to face with two gay men and not condemn them?

That's not in the Bible. The only place you may be thinking about is when a woman was caught in adultery, and he said, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." Once the accusers left, he said to, "go and sin no more."

Where in the Bible is it written Adam saw God's face?

Nowhere in the Bible does it state that Adam saw God's face, however, occasions are described where 'the man' and God would have had opportunities to see each other, face to face; e.g., at Man's creation. So, while not specifically written in the Bible, the fact that Adam saw God's face is highly likely. It is a fact that can be inferred, albeit not too adamantly, from information given in the Text.
