More then likely your alternator is bad...But it also depends on what year your vehicle is as well...if its older then it could be the regulator...this tells the alternator how much juice the battery needs...So if your battery is not fully charged then when you hit the lights they will dim and get bright...Best bet..change both battery and alternator..
It means that one gauge is not in the safe zone. Check the engine temp, oil pressure, battery/alternator voltage,It means that one gauge is not in the safe zone. Check the engine temp, oil pressure, battery/alternator voltage,
provides electricity to keep the engine running, recharge the battery, and operate such equipment as lights and radio
Check the alternator.
Probably a dying alternator. Other lights may come on or off in the dash cluster. Check your accessory bet and have your alternator tested.
it sounds to me like you need to change your alternator ?
Your alternator or drive belt is going.
Either your oil pressure gauge is reading low , your engine temperature gauge is reading high , or your fuel gauge is reading low so your almost out of gas
its basically the check engine light and should be checked out immediately
Most likely, the temperature gauge's connection is loose. It is usually on the thermostat. An inoperative temperature gauge will cause most check engine lights to come on.
The amperage gauge will go down when you turn on your lights, because there is a sudden draw of electric power from the battery. The alternator should equal out the power surge.
Check engine light : Gauge cluster without tachometer ( under the engine oil pressure gauge ) Gauge cluster with tachometer ( just to the left of the battery voltage gauge )
When my check engine light comes on, it is caused by the temperature sensor not working. As soon as the light comes on, my temperature drops to cool. If the light goes out, the temp gauge returns to normal.
