check the smog pump ,,,i had the same problem on my 95 z28
Right in the spot where you see the check engine light. It is behind that spot.
On a 2001 Ford Windstar the check engine light looks like a picture of an engine just to the right and a little bit lower than the ( O/D OFF light )
It is the one next to the service light.....second to the right.
Right there in the instrument cluster. Turn on the ignition switch but do not start the engine. The check engine light will stay on. If you do not see it then the bulb is burnt out or has been removed.
check engine light
As previously said. Dead, or weak battery. The light you're talking about is a blinker signal light, not a check engine light. It's just coincidental.
Check engine light can literally point to hundreds of things. The only right way to find out is to take it to someone with electronic diagnostics.

bad battery
its orange and it is located on the right side of the gauge cluster
Can't be specific, but it should be red. Either an engine logo, the words 'check engine' or both. Should be located right around the other gauges and dummy lights. (check coolant, alternator light, etc)
Check engine lights can come on for a number of reasons. If you didn't get the cable right or got a sparks when connecting or disconnecting that could most definitely cause problems with the check engine light or even blow the alternator fuse.
