i think the data is not lost. We can recover it by some means.
You have almost much chances to recover lost files from USB flash as long as the user do the right things. By relying on a USB flash drive recovery program (see related link) users can retrieve USB files deleted, formatted or lost due to any reasons provided that the data contained in the files are not overwritten (by new data) which means you'd better immediately stop using the flash drive in case you may ruin the chances of USB flash recovery.
Use a removeable Flash drive to back up your files
copy it to your computer hard-drive re-format and just copy the files back over!
The most obvious benefit of owning a USB flash drive is protecting important files. You can transfer your most precious documents, pictures, or videos on to this small device to save them forever and shield them from being lost in a computer crash. A flash drive is easily stored and easily transported. They fit in any computer and/or laptop that features a USB port.
You put it into a USB port in the computer, and the computer will recognize it as a drive, for example, the H drive, and you can drag files on or off of them, and they are rewritable so items can be taken on and off without having to buy a new flashdrive, unlike the CD. They must be ejected safely through the computer, or files may be lost on them forever.
your best bet is to put up posters and offer a new flash drive to anyone who finds it. That way you can get yours back. But to make sure this doesnt happen again, always back up your files (at least anything that is not replaceable) because you never know when your going to lose a drive or have it break
It is very important when you want to recover lost or deleted files that you do not use the drive with the lost files. Using the laptop or camcorder severely reduces your chance for a successful recovery. If you copied the files to the laptop, then you can most easily recover them there. If you did not, you will need to try to recover the files from the camera but unless the storage media of the camera appears to windows as a drive, it may not be something you can do.
If you store your backup of your C:\ drive (which is usually where all your files, photos, etc are stored) on another (logical) partition on the same physical drive (C:\) and this is where you store your backup, if the drive should fail you would lose both the original files AND the backup as well. This is because they both reside on the SAME physical drive. Buy an inexpensive thumb drive or external hard drive and store your backups there. This way is the C:\ drive fails, you still have your backup files (on the external or flash (thumb) drive).
try looking in the recycle bin for your hard drive
Recovering a compact flash drive includes downloading a software that will allow for images, writings, and movies to be recovered; even when they are deleted or lost.
