MOST LIKELY A COMPRESSOR SHORTED TO GROUND IF 3 PHASE. COMPRESSOR START PARTS OR SHORTED COMPRESSOR- SINGLE PHASE. COULD ALSO BE CONDENSER FAN MOTOR OR CAPACITOR ASSUMING IT STARTS WITH THE PRIMARY COMPRESSOR. WITH POWER OFF, CHECK WITH OHMMETER EACH COMPRESSOR LEAD TILL YOU FIND SHORT (LOW RESISTANCE READING). IF THREE PHASE, IT IS POSSIBLE TO REVERSE MOTOR DIRECTION IN AN ATTEMPT TO FREE UP A FROZEN COMPRESSOR (RECIP ONLY, NOT FOR SCROLL IN THAT THEY ARE ROTATION SPECIFIC). ONCE YOU GET IT GOING OR HAVE COMPRESSOR REPLACED, FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED FAILURE AND FIX IT. IT WILL JUST HAPPEN AGAIN IF YOU DON'T. THEY DON'T JUST WEAR OUT IF MAINTAINED PROPERLY. lc

What does it mean when your ac is blowing hot air?

Check your outside unit. Is the fan blowing? If not replace outdoor fan motor or the fan capacitor. If the fan is running then the compressor may not be. Usually a quick fix by replacing the capacitor. In most units a dual capacitor that is bad may shut down the fan or compressor. Call a HVAC technician to replace it. This can be very dangerous.

What is the full form of dip?

Dual in-line Package Switch. A small collection of switches mounted in a compact package. used for setting codes in garage door openers for example.

Do you need two jumpers from your outdoor condensor compressor to the start capacitor if you only have one and does it need 220 or 120 if it is a 40mfd rated for 330v?

Do you have a dual capacitor that starts both the compressor and the fan motor? You need 230V to power the compressor. You should have one wire from the capacitor going from the start terminal on the compressor and one going from the common terminal to common on the capacitor.

Who makes a dual compressor refrigerator?

Sub Zero and Miele make dual compressor refrigerators. Also, Samsung has what they call their 'twin cooling' system which uses a single compressor but two independent evaporators for some of the same benefits (freezer compartment does not share air with refrigerator compartment). Sun Frost, on the west coast, has been making dual compressor units for years.
