Though the temperature of the inner core of the Earth is about 5700 degrees, (about as hot as the surface of the Sun) the pressure is also very high, about 3.3 - 3.6 million atmospheres. At these pressures the material is solid, as has been confirmed in lab tests. The nature of the material is inferred from the velocity of seismic waves passing through it. Among other things.

They can't. The inner core is so hot, that it is hotter that the surface of the sun, and the magma cools as it hits the outer layer of the earth.

There is so much pressure that it doesn't melt. If there was less, less pressure it would melt because of heat.

It remains solid because of the enormous pressure it is under.

Does magma come from the inner core or outer core?

Magma never did get in the inner core of the earth. The inner core is actually solid but still very hot.

Compare and contrast outer and inner cores?

The inner core is solid. The outer core is liquid. It may seem odd that the hotter, inner core is solid while the outer core is liquid magma, but in the inner core you have the entire pressure of the earth pushing down on you.The outer core is hot, molten iron and nickel under extreme pressure. Convection currents cause movements in the liquid outer core. Scientists hypothesize that these movements cause Earth's magnetic field. The outer core surrounds the inner core, which occupies the center of Earth. The inner core is also iron and nickel and is also extremely hot. But pressure within the inner core is so great that it remains a solid.

Are the inner and outer core of earth the same?

No. The inner and outer core are both composed primarily of iron and nickel, but the outer core is liquid and surrounds the inner core. The inner core is the innermost layer of Earth and is kept solid by the enormous pressure.

What part of the earth has the crust mantle inner an outer part?

The earth is made up of 4 layers. The inner core in the center, surrounded by the outer core. The inner core is solid and still. The outer core is molten metals and moves around the inner core contributing to earth's magnetic field. After the inner core and outer core comes the mantel and then the earth's crust. The crust makes up the surface of the earth.

What are the parts of earth called?

The Earth's layers are Crust, Outer Mantle, Inner Mantle, Outer Core, Inner Core.
