Narcissists often come back when they think you may have forgotten about them. Narcissists hate to get ignored and they hate to be forgotten so they could be returning just to see if you'll respond to them. It feeds their ego and gives them narcissistic supply to know you'll answer them. From my experience they just want proof that you'll still talk to them. You can't really believe anything they say so don't trust that they want to get back together or talk again. They're just lying. All they want is attention. Keep ignoring them and pretend they don't exist and you'll cause them great pain/narcissistic injury. Once you ignore them, they'll give up and find someone else.
Whenever I felt envious of other people and thought to myself I am better, and I can do better.
It's certainly possible. A narcissist may date another narcissist that is more selfish than they are to feel better about themselves. In turn say "i'm not as selfish as he/she is so that makes me above him/her). It's incredible and shocking the way people with this disorder think. It takes a lot of research to understand a narcissist.
A compensatory narcissist would not be able to have a successful second marriage. This is because they would always be craving praise while belittling their spouse to make themselves feel better.
no
They need someone who is as focused on them as they are on themselves. So they'd be better off with someone with really low self esteem, or just someone who is a real giver, and wouldn't mind never getting anything in return.

NO. They may say it but they can't feel so they don't mean it.
No a narcissist will always be a narcissist. Don't get involved, you are free now. Be thankful you have escaped the worse time in your life and can move on. the narcissist wil try to make it look and sound like he is so much better to her, because that will further his need to make you feel like you don't matter, if you did, you would have treated you well, too. in reality, he is treating her just as bad as he did you, and probably rubs you in her face, too!
