because in major cities dust and dirt and chemicals from industrial buidings go onto trees in the city so the dark peppered moths have adpated to suit this environment. this is the same thing for the peppered moth who lives in the countryside because their is no industrial buildings in the countryside so the trees aren't spoilt so the moths have adpated to suit to the environment. It's all to do with camoflague to hide from predators!
because they would get eaten in the city if they had pale wings, the camoflague of dark wings protects them. In the countryside its the opposite dark wings would make them stand out.
It has different flowers to eat and different diets make things different. E.g.- flamingoes are pink cos they eat a certain type of algae, vegetarian farts are smellier and breastfed babies are more likely to be very clever
they adapt by the sence of smell hear or even taste ther predator to see were they are
Because before the industrial revolution, the bark of the trees they lived on was light, therefore the dark ones could be easily seen and eaten by predators, causing only the lighter ones to survive. When the industrial revolution came about, the trees near factories were covered in soot and blackened by the pollution, therefore the darker moths couldn't be seen and eaten so they survived wheras the lighter moths could be seen and eaten.
Pale November Moth was created in 1906.
The most common type of pale green moth is the luna moth. This is a very large moth that is often seen near lights at night.
Syncosmia discisuffusa is a moth in the Geometridae family. It is found on Borneo. The wings are dark, pale brownish yellow fasciated with dark brown.
The peppered moth already existed as darker (black) and lighter( white) forms. Before the industrial revolution, the tree barks' had lichens which were lighter in color and the surroundings were lighter in color too. This provided good camouflage for the lighter colored pepper moths which gave a better chance to survive than the darker ones. Yet few darker ones survived too probably due to the possession of traits which helped them escape predators. But after the industrial revolution, due to pollution the lichens which are sensitive to pollution died. In addition the buildings were covered with soot. This provided camouflage and better survival and reproduction to black pepper moths than lighter colored pepper moths. Hence the black pepper moths increased in number than the lighter colored ones.
The word "froth" fits the description of something pale and rhymes with cloth.
'Luna moth' [Actias luna] is one of the insect's common name. The translation into English, as 'moon moth', is another of its common names. Either way, it's a well-known moth with beautiful, pale green wings and furry white body. Its wingspan may reach 3-4 inches [7.62 - 10.16 centimeters].But the adult form only will be seen for two weeks at most. It has no mouth parts. So it has no way of extending life beyond the time that's needed to lay eggs.
It is a moth of the Lymantriidae family, first described in 1758. In the early stages of it's life, it is a caterpillar.
They are mainly a pale green color. In some parts of the American South, the lower wing may be of a light tan.
