Nuclear reactions inside the sun, particularly the fusion of hydrogen nuclei into helium nuclei, produce energy which becomes heat. Hot electrons in the sun vibrate rapidly, which results in the emission of photons. These photons form what we know as sunlight. Sunlight contains energy and heats the Earth. So we perceive that the sun gives off heat.
