Actually, it's not the surface of the ball that has any effect. It has to do with gravity. For example, say you are 5'3 tall. It would have to be the speed you throw it onto the ground, and how hard you throw it. The way it comes back up, reflects the way you have thrown it.

How does a surface effect how high a tennis ball will bounce?

if it is rough it will bounce lower and it is smooth it will bounce higher

Will a hot tennis ball bounce higher than a cold tennis ball?

In theory, yes, however the largest effect of the temperature will be on the court. The hotter the surface is, the higher the ball will bounce.

Does the surface affect the bounce of a ball?

Yes, the surface can affect the bounce of a ball. A harder surface like concrete will result in a higher bounce compared to a softer surface like grass or sand. The elasticity and friction of the surface play a role in how the ball rebounds.

Does the color of a bounce ball effect how high it bounces?

No, the color of a bounce ball does not affect how high it bounces. The height of the bounce is determined by the material and design of the ball, as well as the surface it bounces on. The color is purely cosmetic and has no impact on its bounce height.

Will a squash ball bounce in concrete?

Yes, a squash ball will bounce on concrete, but the bounce will be much lower compared to bouncing on a squash court surface. The hard surface of concrete absorbs more energy from the ball, resulting in a shorter bounce.

How does density effect the bounce of a ball?

If the balls weight is heavy it will not bounce as high but if the ball is lighter it will have more of a Chance to bounce higher.

Does the shape or size of a ball effect the bounce of it?

Does the size of the ball determine how high the ball will bounce? I need the answer for a science project.

What force is needed to make a ball bounce?

The force needed to make a ball bounce depends on factors like the weight and material of the ball, the surface it lands on, and the height of the bounce desired. Generally, a greater force will result in a higher bounce, but it must be applied at the right angle and with the right timing to achieve the desired effect.

Is the bounce of a ball affected by the surface it bounces on?

Its GREATLY affected by the surface it bounces on!If you bounce it on a soft or cushioned surface like a shag carpet, the carpet will absorb a lot of the impact, and the ball will not bounce as high.On the other hand, if you bounce it on concrete, the ball's fall is not cushioned nearly as much, and as a result, bounces much higher.

What happens when you bounce a ball?

When you bounce a ball, it compresses against the surface it hits, storing potential energy. As it then moves back up, that potential energy is converted into kinetic energy, causing the ball to bounce back up. The height of the bounce is determined by the elasticity of the ball and the surface it hits.

What force is used to make a ball bounce?

The force that makes a ball bounce is the elastic potential energy stored in the ball when it is compressed upon impact with a surface. This potential energy is then converted into kinetic energy as the ball rebounds off the surface, causing it to bounce. Friction between the ball and the surface also plays a role in determining the height and duration of the bounce.

Does the surface a ball bounce on affect the bounce of a ball?

Yes. Let's say it bounces on cement. It bounces high and hits the surface perfectly. However, if you were to bounce it on something like carpet, it would either bounce less high, or not bounce at all. This would be due to the fact that the carpet has padding so the ball would not be able to push off of a hard surface because carpet isn't usually hard.
