When you push in the clutch if it rattles that is not the transmission but the clutch throw-out bearing.
not necesarily the throw out bearing
it could also be bad springs or fingers on clutch pressure plate
could be cracked or loose fly wheel
or could be one or more bad bearings in the gearbox
No. The manual transmission does not have a filter.
if manual transmission , it will need 90-grade gear oil
I owned a 1995 neon sc with manual transmission. You don't add transmission fluid like you would a automatic. In fact, the type of fluid my neon required, could only be obtained through the dealer.
NO
Should be a filler plug at side of transmission

Use Valvoline ATF-4. Yes, it's an automatic transmission fluid used in a manual transmission.
From your description it sounds like it MIGHT be a bad throwout bearing.
if its a manual transmission try push-starting it, otherwise try jumping it.
you dont use tranny fluid in a manual trans you lube it
