I'll assume that the kind of vibration you're talking about is a compression wave.

The wave travels by pushing molecules forward. In the air, the molecules are far apart, so it takes a lot more energy for the wave to push the molecules. In solids, the molecules are packed together, so there is less space for energy to be lost. Think of it as a relay race; a runner can transfer the baton to the next runner faster and more easily if the next runner is closer. If the next runner is 1/4 mile away, the baton carrier will exert less energy than a baton carrier who must run one mile.

How are the particles arranged in liquids and gases?

in a solid they are in neat rows and move around in a liquid they arent the close to eache other and have more spaces in them and in gases they move around and go so fast they vibrate

it can go through food fast

Is a p wave fast or slow?

a p wave (primary wave) is super fast and it can go through the entire earth whereas an s wave ( a secondary wave) is slower and can only go through the solid parts of the earth ( like the crust, ect.)

Why do neutrinos pass through the Earth without stopping?

They are so small they can go straight through. Heres why: Atoms are spinning so fast that they look solid. Picture a fan, the blades - when still -have large spaces between them. Your hand could easily pass through. But if the blades were spinning, your hand would be cut off. This is similar with atoms, where the electrons are spinning so fast that it feels solid. Neutrinos are so small that they can pass through these gaps, when our hands are to big to fit through and matter appears to be solid. Thus at the macro level it is solid, but at a subatomic level you are walking through air.

What happens to molecules when their temperature high?

They vibrate with more energy. Depending on their starting state, they may go from solid to liquid or gas, and from liquid to gas.

What happens at the particle level as a given volume of air is warmed?

the particles, as they are heated start to vibrate faster giving the particles of air to heat up. the more heat put into the the volume of air the faster the particles will vibrate. The more they vibrate the more pressure the particles create by their fast vibrations. Because the particles vibrate so fast they will hit the edge of the volume container making so much pressure eventually they will break the container and go free in the air.

Will a seismic wave go faster through a liquid or a solid?

Solid, because that kind of wave goes fastest through solids

How can you go through a cloud?

Clouds aren't solid. You can just pass through them (or fly through them).

Why can't your hand go threw a table?

It is a solid and you can't put a solid through another solid like you can with gas and liquid.

Yes it can. It will be detected, but it will fit through.
