It's not clear what you mean by choke. The 89 was fuel-injected and therefore not equipped with a choke. You may be referring to the THERMAC, which is a device in the intake that sucks warmer air from inside the engine compartment when the engine is cold, to improve cold running, reduce emissions, and increase cold-engine fuel efficiency.
