Why does your 1992 Chevy Cavalier smell like fuel when you turn off the engine?

(MY) 92 Chevy DOESN'T smell like gas, but your's may because the fuel vapor recovery system is not be working. Possible causes may be: 1) a clogged canister, 2) bad vacuum hose, 3) cracked fuel hose, 4) leaking injectors, 5) fuel pump, 6) missing gas cap or 7) a hole in the gas tank.

from what i have been told that you disconnect the battery terminals and then reconnect them. that should reset the computer
